hows this for a cheap LCD monitor?

So you only get good items if you pay more?

Man I am glad Logitech did not agree with Klipsch on that argument.

As far as the monitor goes it looks like, good stats on it and the price is great. Only thing to take into account is how good a company Rosewill is and how good their products are. Would be great if you could find any reviews or someone talking about them, both good and bad and take each with a grain of salt.

But the 16 ms Response Time is great for gaming
450:1 is a pretty nice ratio especially for a monitor this cheaply priced

The warranty does not sound as nice as some of the others. I have not went into detail on it but the fact that it is only 1 year and does not say anything about on site would have me concerned. Some have way way way better warranties and imo would be worth a slight increase in cost to have a better warranty.

As far as how it looks and such there is only one way to figure that out. You have to go to a store, or meet someone who has one and go look at it. You can also ask for peoples advice but the way people judge monitors can be very subjective.

But good luck friend and I hope my advice helps out a little.

WalMart has 3 LCDs (19"/17"/15") under $300 today under the "Balance" label. I saw someone claim that these were rebadged Spectre LCDs.

No, they're not super-cool like the Dell 20xxFPs, but if your budget is than main concern, it's probably worth a look.

Aye Walmart has a Balance 19" LCD w/ DVI for 299 w/ no rebate, but I belive it has a 25ms response time. Microcenter might still have a 19" LCD w/ 16ms response time for 299 after rebate also it's a Proview. Check the hot deals fourm theirs been a lot of good deals on LCD's lately.

Response time really doesn't mean that much for gaming. It depends on the quality on the panel, more than anything else.

Plus it doesn't have DVI. That's a big thing.

But it is college, and students are always on a budget. Just go with it.

Please don't listen to Dfloyd, the specs chart on LCDs are notoriously unreliable and each manufacturer uses different methods.

Hmm Rapsven you sure about that man?

So stats dont matter and response time has little to do with gaming. This is very amusing. I hope you are being sarcastic. If your not thats just scary.

How about reviews? How about customer testimonies? I have seen many many many of these cheap lcds get very nice reviews. In fact some have gotten down right great reviews with no negatives at all.

And you can not listen to me all you want, my point was aimed at the extreme high price of Klipsch speakers. And then Logitech comes along and drops a bomb on them that costs $130 and sounds much better. Price does not always equal quality.

And what about these monitors being tested online and showing that the spec charts are right on and not unreliable. Yes they were very unrelialbe two years ago. But they have gotten a heck of alot better since.

Edit: If you want to argue about something at least stay on subject. If the monitor he posted is bad or the company has been proven to lie about the stats on it then please post links to that information.

At the very least please clarify what you think we should judge one by. I mean we have to judge it by something and your telling us that we should not pay attention to the spec sheets as they may be unreliable. Thats just silly man.

You also said "Response time really doesn't mean that much for gaming." Ever hear of ghosting? Ever hear of what the main cause of ghosting is?

And to this: "It depends on the quality on the panel, more than anything else."
How can we determine it if were doing mail order? We read the specs, we check peoples thoughts and you tell us we should not. How can we check the quality? By how much it costs?

"Plus it doesn't have DVI. That's a big thing."

How is that a big thing? Its a 17" montitor, DVI hardly makes a difference to most people on a 17" monitor. There are some who might notice a difference but the majority of reviews I have seen and from what I have seen personally its not a big deal, on a 17" monitor.

And friend if you want to say I am incorrect then do so, but at least have the common courtesy to point out how i was wrong. Reading the stats from a product is the first thing anyone should do on any product. I cant fathom why you would imagine otherwise.
