Very good DVD player.

It will playback your Xvid movies on CD/DVD. However, unless there is something about your xbox player you don't like or is holding you back, I wouldn't spend the cash on a new player.

well nothing in particular, i dont like about the 360, i just herd the 360 was sh1t for dvd playback.

I am sure some will claim that this would be a huge increase in PQ, but in all honesty if your not one to perfectly calibrate your TV and do alignment quite often then I doubt you would see much difference in PQ. The biggest difference would be in the user interface.

cause one is 2.5 times more expensive then the other, and i dont want to invest in an unconfirmed platform

The oppo has received quite a bit of praise for being a very good entry level transport/player.


Take this with a grain of salt, there is a bunch of audiophile lingo, just skip over that. Extract the info you feel is important to your specific case.

I think there was 2 oppos. 1 was better at video, 1 was slightly better with audio. I can't remember which was which though
