If you are looking to overclock, a e7200 will get you up to 3.8-3.9ghz for $50 less than the e8400 which will get up to 4.0-4.2ghz. Not much difference between those 2 speeds and any performance difference would more likely be the difference in cache: 3mb vs 6mb.
Otherwise, looks solid.

excellent choices, same as i made.

And the thread you posted it says that the problem has been fixed in the latest bios beta,... and only affected people using it as a digital audio workstation to begin with.

The ram looks good. The cpu looks good. The mb looks awesome! You can't go wrong with that mb. I love mine. The oc'ing features rock and the stability has been amazing. Before this I had an Asus mb and it was a high maintenance problem child. I agree with therOOkie16 on the cpu choice. My e7200 is a beast. I have it up to 3.9Ghz on only 1.275v and will be going to 4Ghz and beyond soon.

I never had the DPC latency problem with my original P35-DS3R rev 1.0, F9 bios. It gets up to 400ms, that's all.

OP, your choices look good.

Just to point out that it isn't necessarily the manufacturer, I have been using ASUS parts (optic drives, motherboard) for near 3 years now and I can't say I have had any hassles, except for a flaky BIOS release I flashed that was improved upon quickly anyway. Customer support was great too. Ive had my motherboard from September 2007, 9 months now.

Their optic drives beat the pants off LG anyway...
