This PC will need to last a long time before having to be completley rebuilt (i.e. upgradability is key).

Get a quality power supply. The XClio 450W is my recommendation for the low budget PSU.

New monitor, please. 25ms is horrible and unacceptable for anything. Try to get at least 16ms. The rest looks alright, but you might want to consider a different case/PSU combo. Aspire PSUs are notorious for blowing out in a matter of days.

you should spring for at least the 6600gt or even the 6800gt, good processor choice. maybe spring for a 17" monitor at least. as many people here will undoubtably say, aspire makes flashy but poor products. it would cost more but i'd say get a separate power supply, a good quality one, instead of having to fork over more money later switching it out when you want to upgrade. what's your max budget

this is pretty much the max budget right now. The bro doesnt do any gaming or video intensive apps....So i figured a 6600 would be plenty. The 15" monitor will be so much better than the crappy 17" CCRT he has now, he wont notice the difference. As far as the PSU/Case, I'm checking out the antec case mentioned above, as well as simply getting a seperate PSU.
