IMO the bare bones laptop kits are a waste. You are still very limited in the options to complete the build. Your better off sticking with an OEM.

graphics card seems a bit underpowered, but then its a laptop. also, I would go with a mobile quad if I could, and go with SSD(s).

of course, the trouble with OEM's is they like to bundle trial software and stuff on PC's, I always prefer a fresh install.

Underpowered for the cost it would end up at.
this or this is much better if you don't mind 7+lb laptops.
Otherwise, get in on one of those $400 of HP codes that come and go and upgrade the graphics to a 4650 (slightly better than 9600m) for a $1k laptop (and don't forget 6% cashback from fatwallet to knock of $60). Or the HDX 16t looks interesting with option to upgrade to 1080p display, 9600m and blu-ray.
All of these options would be cheaper and come with an OS and better graphics.
