I have a legit copy of XP Home, but have been having some problems lately, so I may reformat. However, I want to know about the whole registration thing. How many times are you allowed to do it? I have installed it twice before (on the same machine) with no trouble.

You can reinstall as often as you like. If you can't activate over the 'net just phone and they will give you a key.

iirc it's up to 5 times before you have to call. I've done it like 10-15 times with some keys over the past few years (upgrading, testing parts, etc.) and all you have to do is call. They'll ask you if you really, really uninstalled XP on your old machine and then give you new activation numbers. It's just annoying to wait on the phone. Also iirc it's faster to punch in the #s on your phone than to verbally say them...good luck! :)

Haha, thanks. If I do end up reformatting soon (probably tomorrow if I get one more damn lockup/BSOD), I'll let you know how it goes.
