How's the quality of current Lenovo notebooks?

Just wondering what everyone's opinion of Lenovo's current line of notebooks is... and their customer service for that matter.
I have a Latitude D520 that's not 2 years old yet and is in need of a new motherboard. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a new one rather than repair this one. I may even wait until the 45nm Intel chips are plentiful and get a laptop with one of those, but I'm considering Lenovo's new Ideapad line. They look nice, I'm just concerned about the build quality.

Anyone have any experience with Lenovo they'd care to share?

Not sure about customer service, but they're still the top of the line for build quality from what I read/hear.

I actually just ordered a 14" T61 from lenovo a few days ago. It will be here in a couple weeks. I will let you know what I think of it....

I have a 14" T60 and my wife has a 14" T61. My machine is very reliable, and has stood up to a lot, including multiple falls and being drop-kicked accidentally across a room (it's a long story). The chassis on mine is wonderful. My wife's is slightly thicker but built even more like a (very light) tank. Lenovo service is good too (dealt with IBM service previously, and on our current models regarding a battery issue), with a one-day turnaround with in-home stuff.

The two things I don't like about my wife's machine are that the screen bezel is thicker on one side than the other, and that the screen is not the higher-quality IPS kind typically found on the 15" T series. Calibrating these displays can be tough too in my experience, but then you don't really buy them for multimedia so much as the robustness and ease of use.

My T60 is not yet a year old - and it has travelled all over - Greece, Italy, France, USA (OR; CA; AZ; TX; LA; MS) and Mexico. Never a problem.

I can't speak to customer service or support - never had any reason to contact them.

PC World readers voted Lenovo customer service the best for everything. If you decide to buy Lenovo then you will be safe.
