How's my temp?

I have a couple of questions. I'm running EVEREST and under Sensor I'm my cpu is running at 36 °C but under Overclock my cpu is at 46 °C. So which one do I trust? Also if it is running at 46 °C, is it too hot? BTW, my cpu is an Athlon 64bit 3400+ (Clawhammer)

Under Sensor

Temperatures
Motherboard 38 °C (100 °F)
CPU 36 °C (97 °F)
Aux 49 °C (120 °F)
Maxtor 6Y120L0 27 °C (81 °F)

Voltage Values
CPU Core 2.61 V
CPU Aux 3.14 V
+3.3 V 3.25 V
+5 V 5.00 V
+12 V 2.37 V
+5 V Standby 4.46 V
VBAT Battery 2.64 V

46C is fine. Are you have instability issues and what's the temp when the CPU is fully loaded?

I don't know how to check that out. Do I need to play a game that demands my cpu. So I can see how hot it can get? Also, are you saying that the temp that's listed under Overlock the right temp? Thanks

Yeah, run a game, or seti@home or anything else that takes 100% cpu, and see what happens after a couple of hours.

But no, if it can't handly 46 degrees, then there's something seriously wrong with the cpu.

It's not critical until you reach around 80 degrees. (70, if you want to play it 100% safe).

that's a good temp. I recommend going to your bios settings and enabling autoshutdown when the temperature goes over 65 or 70. that way, you'll never have to worry about accidentally burning your cpu.
