Looks like a great system. Where did you find that price for the hard drive?

I don't see any major flaws.

I have the MSI KT7A Turbo-R and have had no problems with it. It was very easy to install and very well packaged. (One of the reasons I favor MSI - mine has run very stable since I got it.)

From what I've read though, I'm not sure if there's an advantage to the MSI board over the less expensive Shuttle board.

Also, the Soyo Dragon Plus has gotten great reviews.

The best source for motherboard reviews I have found thus far is www.socketa.com

I don't see any major flaws either...should kick arse!!!

1) If you want as good as performance without paying for the name get the lite-on which is rumored to copy some protected games better then the plextor...at a whole lot less to boot!!!

2) Avoid the toshiba 16x...Both the pioneer and the liteon 16x both outperform it in reviews (www.storagereview.com). PLus some versions of the toshiba were limited to 2x while doing dvd rips...

3) make sure that alpha will work with mobo as it requires to be bolted down to board not just clipped on...maybe you knew that, but definitely worth repeating on checking its compatability.

Good luck
