How's Google's/Samsung's warranty service?

Have a Galaxy Nexus I purchased literally a month before the Nexus 4 was announced (direct from play store), so I'm well within my 1 year warranty window. Sound is cutting off on the left channel of any hooked up headphones and I'm wondering what the repair process is like - I don't have a spare phone so do they usually do swaps for refurbs (a few day process) or do they actually repair it (weeks? months?)?

Depends on where you bought it. If you bought it from Google Play, then Google has so far been really good at handling RMAs pretty quickly. So far they've done an advanced RMA for any issues I've had with Google Play products, so they may ship out a replacement, then you can ship the defective phone back after you get the replacement.

(I read past the part you mentioned you got it from Google Play... So it looks like you are probably in luck.)

Argh - called google and they just referred me to Samsung which I was worried about because they've taken weeks in the past. I'll give them a call, maybe they're less sucky these days.

Samsung has great service. I called in about my wifes SGS2. They took it in and fixed it up and sent it back in 3 days.
