Alright, this may be old news to some, but I was searching for a cheap webhoster with support for JSP, or PHP, and came across two services that are free after a setup fee of around $160.

1feehosting
cellhost.net

This does cost significantly more than monthly plans at the outset, but if you're looking for long-term hosting, this isn't that bad, right? They've support for lots of things other than JSP and PHP, so check it out.

A lower-cost monthly plan from linuxwebhost is also pretty good.

Has anyone used any of these? It's kind of hard plucking down so much money, but I'm tempted...

Uh, free for the life of the dot.com hosting company, right? Read the fine print before you give them $160.

<< 3.2 We shall have the right to suspend the Services at any time and for any reason, generally without notice, but if such suspension lasts or is to last for more than 30 days you will be notified of the reason. >>

Why pay anything for hosting? I use www.names4ever.com
They host free in exchange for one banner at the top of your main page. Just pay the yearly domain fee for your name. I have NEVER had any trouble from them in the 2 years I have used them.

Well, I want to use something like JSP or PHP. Names4ever.com doesn't seem to support these server-side stuff. And jlv, thanks for the tip!! I can't believe I forgot to read those not-so-fine prints.
