Just booked a trip to San Francisco for the middle of November. How's the weather during that time of the year? Rainy? Cold? I was hoping to rent a convertible and drive down the Pacific Coast Highway... should I stick with a hardtop?

The weather here is really indistinguishable throughout the year, so there's hardly a difference between fall/spring/winter/summer. It's actually often warmer in November than in August in SF. Expect temps in the lower 60s with plenty of sunshine. The rains usually don't come til late Dec/early Jan. And if it does rain in Nov, it won't last much more than a couple hours...

Down in Southern Cal, in the LA, San Diego areas it's usualy around 70ish in november rainy days are very rare even in winter. Up in northern cal, SF, might be a tad different... they have higher rainfall yearly figures than we do and their weather changes very very quickly. It can be fine at noon without a cloud in sight then later on that evening it's raining and cold. Go ahead and visit SF anyways... it's a great city, it has plenty of things to see/do even if it drizzles a little.
