Howard Stern: Some 8 am announcment

These threads would be a whole lot more enjoyable if the forum software could be modified not to accept posts that were misspelled, improperly punctuated or capitalized, or most importantly contained the phrases 'Bush's fault' or 'liberal.' 😉

EDIT: It could display "404: Solid argument not found." or "501: Rhetoric denied."

I'm curious too.....it should be past 8am on the east coast.

Well, I had to run to my truck, so I listened on the radio. Luckily, it came in.

Basically, he is now mad at nascar. Nascar is folding under the pressure of the FCC also. Fining Dale Earnhardt for dropping the S-bomb on TV.

He played some news clip about how hte US citizens are fed up with foul mouthed potty language. Went into a speech about how his show is the NUMBER 1 RADIO SHOW in the world. The largest audience ever for a radio show. But hte FCC is crying foul.

Basically, it was arant abut free speech. I didn't catch it all, and it's probably still going right now. I just got hte beginning of it.

Bush must go!

What does Bush have to do with this?

he controls who gets governmental position. Powell's son heads the FCC. If Bush goes, so does his puppet. In case you havn;'t notices, the governemtn over the past for years has become one with god and jesus.

An analogy:
if Bush were a Muslim, he'd probably be trying to make it illegal for women to vote. And this is a dead on analogy.

You're a moron and take your crap over to P&N. No one wants to hear the ramblings of an idiot here.

Hahahahaha. Good one. rambling no. Rant yes. Idiot no. To be an idiot, you have to ignore what is going on in your world. Therefore, I can't be an idiot.

But you seem to have no clue whatsoever so yes you are in fact an idiot. Nice try, move on moron.

Let's get back to the root of what started this exchange:
Let's take two key points whcih seemed to trigger your childish response:
1) the government over the past four years has become one with god and jesus.
2) if Bush were a Muslim, he'd probably be trying to make it illegal for women to vote. And this is a dead on analogy.

This is controversial but when Bush in debate number one says his belief system heavily influences his decissions, this analogy is both accurate and scary. He said this on national TV in a debate!

Then again, I'm a thinker. You might not be able to comprehend this post. Sorry for any brain hemerages.

Your points are silly and moot. The governemnt is no more religiously based today than it was 4 years ago.

You are a knee-jerk alarmist who parrots everything Stern tells you, not a thinker.

Actually, legislation was passed recently that increased the maximum fine to something like $500k PER incident, and that the offender (ie, a DJ) could be held personally liable. Before, only the broadcast companies were held responsible. I've been listening to Stern's show for a while, and one of the biggest issues he brought up was the enforcement. An incident happened on Oprah's show, but no action was taken. One could argue that her show is bigger than Stern's, as she is (sometimes) well respected in the national spotlight. Yet the FCC took action against Stern and not Oprah (please forgive me for not remembering what actually happened/was said on the show)

The FCC decency rules are dependent on context. Educational or public service messages will have less stringent rules than one's with no educational or public service value at all.

Powell is Bush's puppet? LMAO! You do know that it was William Jefferson Clinton who first appointed Michael Powell as an FCC commissioner in 1997, right? Next time you speak to Howard, let him know that too, so he won't come across as such a huge moron.

Just shows how clueless the OP really is.

Michael K. Powell (born March 23, 1963) is an American politician and a Republican. He was appointed to the Federal Communications Commission by President Bill Clinton on 3 November 1997.

Believe it or not Howard's show is deemed as a news show (I guess because of Robin's news segment at the end of every show).

YOur local news is jsut as bad. Ever notice how they say "horrific accident" .... after this commerical break! How much of your 6 o'clock news is truely new-worthy? I'd say about 10%

Or shows like Entertainment Tonight. That's news too.

Easy to believe, even without Robin there.
