Anyone hear this? Howard always plays clips of his laugh.
Interview:

Gary Garver Interviews From A Star Trek Convention. 8/5/02. 8:15am
Howard's Los Angeles interviewer Gary Garver went out and interviewed a couple of people including George Takei and Ricardo Montalban. First up was George Takei from the original ''Star Trek'' series. He laughed at his own answers with a very funny sounding laugh. Howard goofed on it the whole time and played the interview twice. Here are a few of the questions he asked:

* Which version of Star Trek is the best? - (Movies) ''...I would definitely say 'Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country' which I subtitled 'Captain Sulu to the rescue' Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...''
* Are you a Trekkie or a Trekker? - ''Actually I don't make those distinction... I love Star Trek, I'm proud of Star Trek and I revel in Star Trek, so whatever that makes me, I'm that.''
* Did you ever experience William Shatner's massive ego? - (takes a pause and a deep breath) ''We worked together for what? How many years? Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha... Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha''
* Do you think that prisoners in jail should be allowed to watch television and movies while incarcerated? - ''Well, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't, especially if it's Star Trek, it might make them honest. Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...''
* Do you think all these child molesters and killers be put to death? - ''...Well, no... this is a personal, political issue with me. I don't believe in the capital punishment. So certainly I don't believe in child molesters and... I mean as heinous, as horrific, as despicable as those crimes are, you don't want to reduce yourself to the same level by killing another human being. I think we need to be above all that now. That's the Star Trek philosophy.''
* Do you think it's right that Ted Williams is being frozen like a TV dinner? - '' Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.. You eat him? Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha''
* Do you wish that we could destroy the Arabs in the Mid East with a spaceship like the Enterprise? - ''Well, you heard what I said about capital punishment... Or, was it you that asked about capital punishment... I thought it was you since you're asking all the off-the-wall questions... Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...''
* Did you have homosexual feelings about anyone on ''Star Trek''? - ''No, do you? Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha... Anyone who brings it up certainly is questionable... you've got nice muscles! Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha''
* Do you ever pick up chicks at gigs like this? - ''You mean, uh, little baby chickens? Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha''
* Do you think Uhura had a big ass? - ''Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha... She may be here. I think it'd be more prudent for me to say 'no comment. Uh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha''

Howard said he could listen to that guy all day long. The laugh was hilarious and he did it after almost every answer he gave.

EDIT: morkinva has the sound clips on his website (search here for Howard and look under the babaa-booey thread). I don't feel right linking to his site without his permission. I can email someone the clips if they want to host it though.

I should have known anything related to Howard Stern wouldn't be worth my time. I wish I had never clicked on this post.

As old as Stern is, don't you think he should have outgrown the whole "I'm a jock, watch me make fun of the nerd" thing?

How many times has Takei been a guest on The Simpsons?

How many times has Stern?

'Nuff said for me!

When has Howard Stern ever claimed to be a jock and not a nerd?

It's quite obvious you've never listened to the show either, but yet you felt the need to speak out about it. Now that's scary, really scary. You're the typical example of why this country is going straight down the toilet.

Thanks. (Or no thanks.) I've heard the show before. One guy I worked with, whose nickname was "Freak Boy," had a radio tuned to Howard Stern every morning. I can't listen to the show anymore because it's not carried in this market. Oh, it was on for awhile, and when he first came on, he made such an ass of himself talking S--- about our local top-rated morning show host. (Man, some of the stuff he said was just insane: "He'll be off the air so fast," and "I'm going to crush him!" Here's a good one: "I'd hate to be his kids!") Our top local host didn't even acknowledge his presence in this area (on the air, anyway), the dominant morning show remained on top of the ratings (by no insignificant margin), and 2-3 years later, Stern, never having gained impressive ratings here, was off the air.

I fail to see how you, without knowing me, could say I'm the "typical example" of anything, much less a reason "why this this country going straight down the toilet." For the record, I love my country. The freedom of speech, the freedom of movement, the freedom to make whatever I want to out of my life based on my own choices, the freedom speak out when certain things about the country are getting out of whack--"going straight down the toilet," if you will.

I believe that current laws regarding TV and radio broadcasting and FCC policies suck. Quality independent commercial radio and TV stations used to exist all over the nation, but that's become a thing of the past, particularly in radio. (I used to be able to turn on one of several radio stations on any given day and hear something I've never heard before. Even the occasional song that drops the F-word. That's not so true anymore.) As a result, I listen to very little commercial radio these days. (Thank goodness we still have KFAI community radio.)

I think it's admirable that Stern is speaking out on censorship and other issues, (part of me cheers "Go! Go! Go!") but that doesn't mean I should enjoy listening to his show.

Sorry for painting you in that light, just seemed like you were one of those people, from your first comment, that listened for 5 minutes one day, then blurts out that he's evil and nobody should have the right to listen because *I* don't like it. I like the fact that although you don't particularly care for his program, you're able to switch the station, and those that want to listen and enjoy his show are able to.
