And apparently this is catering to some rumors that he is planning to run for president?! What is he going to do, lobby the coffee industry? ;)

Definetly will be an interesting candidate if this rumor is indeed true. To he honest, I think he will quickly realize much like Trump that the working corporate world is not the same as the government. One of the two can be equated to the "How many monkeys does it take to screw in a light bulb" bit.

Meh...so many names thinking about a 2020 run now that it would be faster to list the people NOT exploring a run.

$20 says Bernie runs as an independent and we get Trump for another four years.

You're right in that we shouldn't have more inexperienced business people running for President (or any major political office, really). It's not supposed to be a popularity contest.

With that said: Schultz would still do a better job than Trump, if just because he actually cares about people beyond himself.

I'm going to guess that someone who just had to deal with a big scandal about whether homeless people should be allowed to use the bathrooms in his stores isn't going to want a job where dealing with the Congress and public acting like monkeys flinging poo at the Zoo isn't going to be a job he aspires to. He's probably quite done with dealing with shit issues (quite literally) for a while.

well, Trump isn't part of the corporate world. His is a private, family-run company that is in no way beholden to public interests. It's how he has been able to run it as a semi-criminal empire for so long. There really is nothing in the corporate world that is comparable to Trump; so one of the many, many, many issues with Trump's abject failure (at everything) is that he actually has absolutely no experience and absolutely no idea how the world works around him--including that part of the world that he claims to be so brilliant at.

That being said, the idea of a CEO/business dude as POTUS never was a good idea, and we clearly know, for a fact right now, that it is worse than we thought.

I don't think a business person as president is bad persay, I just think they will wrongly go in with the perception that they can streamline things like a business... when we all know that simply will never happen with government. Mostly because they don't have a board of directors and stockholders to hold people accountable for their actions (or lack thereof I should say)

Also as far as Trump and corporatism, I had to go back and double check since I never thought about it - but looks like you're right... he has never really been a part of a publicly traded company.

The only public company I see is Trump Entertainment Resorts, but he hasn't really been involved much ever and it resulted in basically being dissolved altogether

Maybe he could schedule a bias training class for everyone in the US on the same day.
