Albeit that these bench's are based on the alpha version its interesting to see how these cards perform relative to each other. Note, the Geforce 3 Ti 200 beats out the Radeon 8500 despite that the 8500 usually betters the Ti200 on current benchmarks such as 3DMark2001 and UT2003.

To see the benchmark just scroll all the way down.

I think the reason for the low scores for the ATi 8500 series and Xabre series is because as of now Doom has been optimized for Nvidia cards and the ATi 9700 (which ran this demo at E3). Notice that the Perhalia doesn't run the demo at any resolution.

well, why should you even care? You won't be playing this version and likely won't be using the 8500 or a GF3 or most likely won't even have a GF4 by the time this game comes out.

Actually I put together my system last spring and I don't plan on updating my videocard until the budget version of the nv30 or r300 comes out and who knows when that will be...

Notice that the gap between the gf3 series and the gf4 series of cards isn't all that great and in some cases non-existant. Upgrading to anything less than a nv30/r300 part is pretty pointless.

Believe the game has 6-9 months left in development.

My TNT2 M64 and Rage mobilty M1 aren't listed. I guess they are so fast, they aren't allowed to release the results.
