...go about framing a 60x36 poster. I don't need a fancy border but a nice 60x36 piece of glass so the poster doesn't get screwerd up. Acrylic, plexi...home depot?

Oh yea...here is the poster I got. :D

If you have a Garden Ridge or a Michael's nearby they would probably have plain plastic frames that big, with matching glass or clear plastic.

I would suggest lexan, but it scratches easily.

A sheet of glass that big will be expensive.

I'm glad it wasn't LordJezo who started this thread. I can't imagine what the link might have lead to. ;)

Okay, that's a hot poster.

Anyway, go to Home Depot and buy the thinnest acrylic they have. It doesn't have to be Lexan or Plexi or anything fancy -- the cheap stuff will do nicely. I'm pretty sure you can get 60" pieces. I honestly can't remember. If you can indeed buy 60" pieces, get a sheet, and get them to cut it down for you.

Then, go to a craft store (Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Garden Ridge) and buy a pair of 60" frame pieces and a pair of 36". They'll come with all the hardware you need. You might need to buy a wire seperately, or maybe you have some at home. You're also going to need some foam backing for the frame, which you're probably going to have to buy in two pieces, since I don't think most places sell it at 60".

I got a 26x38 poster framed at Michael's with one of their 50% off coupons. I got a basic frame, glass and black metal. It still cost me about $115. Expect to pay well over $200 for your frame. :(

Hmm, it really shouldn't be that expensive if you do it yourself. Those poster frame kits craft stores sell are pretty cheap.

I got it custom framed...i.e. I dropped it off and picked it up about 3 weeks later.

Yeah, I had a couple maps I wanted framed that way, but custom framing really does cost a lot. Especially considering it's just backing, moulding, and matting anyway.

Everyone has that poster. Everyone. (not to say it isn't great :D) but it isn't one I'd bother to frame. Still, go somewhere like aaron brothers framing...they'll probably have one.

Frameless posters are a big pet peeve of mine. All my posters in my room are framed, it looks helluva lot better.
