How would you upgrade me?

I think my Asus mobo is dead. So I need to know what you would do. After seeing the gameplay footage on http://www.doom3.com/ I want to have the ability to upgrade my cpu and vid card in two months or when he game comes out. However for now I need something.

I have now:
asus p4b (dead)
1.6a
512mb 533 ram
WD 8mb 80gb drive
big atx case with good antec trupower 300w ps
dell 2000fp lcd. (16x12 native res) (dumb purchase)
dvd-r and all perphs I need.

So basically what would you recomend for a mobo to go to that I could put my 1.6a in for now and later upgrade with a new cpu and vid card. I have been using my onboard vid card on the asus so I have no video, I'd like a board with onboard video because I dont feel like geting a new vid card now. I'd like to wait for that till after the doom3 launch and then do the cpu and vid card upgrade later.

uh I dont remember in all honesty.

I remeber spending extra for ram that would and has run my 1.6a at 2ghz+ I remeber it says on it 333.

does that help?

ewll if you are going to stay with intel, geting a 865/875 mobo would be what i would do.

But if you are planning on going A64 , my guess is any cheap p4 mobo that'll fit your needs will work for now

well if I go a64 I should just jump now and do it. What do you recomend?

If I stick with intell can I get a processor that will OC to AMD speeds at ~ prices?
