How would you prepare for a Team Drinkoff?

It's mostly beer since we are afraid of dying if we do a drink off with liquor and I absolutely hate beer. It's the nastiest thing ever, but I was the 2nd round draft pick and I will not fail. Whoever drinks the most beers wins is what it boils down to, but we are doing it Olympics style with games like beer pong, flip cup, a marathon/relay type game we came up with, etc...

It is kind of weird, when I first started drinking last February when I turned 21, I never got sick. I always went hyper and crazy and beligerent and NEVER passed out. Now I can't drink nearly as much, otherwise I'll throw up and I usually pass out pretty quick now.

I'm thinking about a big bowl of pasta for lunch and then nothing for dinner so I won't be full. The drinkoff is not until New Year's Eve so I have a while to prepare and to learn to like beer.

How would you prepare?

Just eat plenty that day, make sure your gut is lined and not too empty before you start (milk is good for that), and make sure you're well hydrated before you start...
 
Yeah, nothing will make you like beer. But after the first 15 or so, you wont feel a thing. The trick to winning a drink off is quiety slip to the bathroom and vomit your brains out while the beer is in your stomache and before all of the alcohol is absorbed. Just dont tell anyone, and then come back out and drink.

Sure its cheating, but so what?

I'd say dinner is very important to decrease your chances of throwing up. Eat the greasiest thing you can find about 1 hour before the contest, this way the grease will line your stomach and you won't absorb the alcohol nearly as quickly as you would if you didn't eat any dinner. Also when you eat your metabolism is increased and your body can process the alcohol faster to get it out of your system. Also make sure you only drink water that day (and maybe even the day before). This way your body will get nice and hydrated and help prevent a hangover the next day.
 
Ehhh ... "drinking as much as you can" is stupid.
Usually ... when I used to do my "heavy" drinking, I'd eat a normal lunch and a small dinner. I'd drink a LOT of water during the day, and I'd even have a glass of water every few drinks.

I'd often still get nauseated and toss cookies once "done" with drinking for the evening.
With beers I never got much more then 24 or so down in one night.
With hard liquor .. a full 750ml bottle of wild turkey 101 proof, or about a liter of 80 proof vodka is the most I've ever let myself drink.
The only times I'd drink more then that is if the "party" started as a BBQ at like noon ... and then went to like 2 or 3 AM.
I've done 30 to 40 drinks (combined total between beers and mixed drinks) over the course of > 14 hours without hangovers etc ... but you're probably going for more of a "speed marathon"

That being said .... Usually nowadays I'll have 1 or 2 quality beers, a glass of Mead, or a mixed drink or two and I'll call it a night..

what dug777 said - hydration is the key, drink lots and lots of water beforehand (and sneak off to drink some during if possible)
 
Have a glass of water now and then and DO NOT EAT AFTER YOU START DRINKING. It will fill you up, bload the hell out of you and you will prob end up passing out in a corner.
 
I'm practicing tonight. I just drank 4 beers in 6 minutes and 45 seconds. I think that's pretty good. We're gonna do "The Train" first. Each team has 6 people, so in this game, everyone drinks a beer, then one person sits down. Then the 5 left drink a beer and then one sits again. Do this until only one person is left and he drinks 6 beers. 🙂
