Given that Kerry appears to having become the early front runner in the primaries,
who would you match up as adding the most credibility and strenght to the ticket.
A flaw that I see in the Bush continuance is that there is no continuity offered as
a Vice President being able to step up as an immediate viable candidate.
I do not see that in Cheney, his non-chrisma would doom him with the electorate.
That would only present a continuance of the Bush dynasty, with Jeb from Florida,
and Daisy-Mae from . . . to be replacement on the ballot to Conservative Repubclians.
So back to the 'Top Four' from the Denocratic primaries, and as the field dwindles -
we have in 'Approximate' order from top to bottom, in a win - place - show ranking:
Kerry
Edwards
Clark
Dean
Kucinich
Sharpton
Kucinich may be the next to drop out, as his trail is marked and it's not to the front of the pack.
I don't see him as a viable Vice President under any of the 'Front Four' either,
Sharpton won't quit - the longer hw stays in the better his credibility with a rising minority population.
But I don't see him as a Vice President at all, not even in a musical comedy.
Dean is fading as the reality of a President possibly inheriting a war that he didn't start, we don't need
another Commander in Chief who loved his country so much that he forgot to report for active duty.
Either Kerry or Clark, veterans of military action, certified brain doners.
Which brings us to continuity - and that's where Edwards fits in.
With Kerry holding the North Atlantic region of the USA, and Edwards attracting the South
we arrive at a strong pairing with a solid and substantial voting base.
I do not see as strong appeal with Clark as the Pres with Edwards as VP,
although the Tornado Belt does identify with him.
Now with Kerry/Edwards you get a mixture where although either could be Presidential material,
and in case of a catostrophe, like with Kennedy, you have a very credible instantaneous replacement,
and if there was an 8 year, 2 terms Presidency, the continuity of leadership is in place - if it deserves to be renewed.
With that as a Democratic ticket it's the alternative to Bush/Cheney.
Clark can replace Colin Powell or Rumsfeld.
Whichever he replaces we can replace the other one . . with a broom.
