Mr Harpin, 49, a director of a civil engineering company, and his wife, who is also 49, and is a teacher of dyslexic pupils, claimed Mr Griffin often shouted through the dividing wall of their Victorian terrace homes in Swindon, Wilts.
The campaign also included:
Hanging bed frames, chairs, bicycles, rotting refuse, traffic cones, pallets and scaffold planks from the dividing fence;
Building a viewing platform overlooking the Harpins' garden, without planning permission, in order to watch their movements;
Shouting abuse and singing childish songs to Mrs Harpin up to 30 times a day, using his personal nicknames. He sang Nelly the Elephant to her after passing her in his car when she was wearing shorts;
Sending letters to Mr Harpin's employers, and to local education authorities, complaining about the couple;
Giving the couple the nicknames "the Penguin" and "Bugs Bunny". On one occasion Mr Griffin erected a sign outside the Harpins' home, which said: "Come and get your photo taken with Bugsy."
