where you have to be an administrator to install anything. I got the latest family guy episode on my memory key but I can't install any codecs. I have a couple of hours to kill before my next class

Is there some sort of stand a lone media player that has codecs integrated it itself?

just curious.

thanks

Media Player Classic does not have to be "installed", it play's DVD's without a codec installed....maybe it will work for xvid/divx too.

I dunno if the VideoLAN player has to be installed, but I know it supports tons of formats without the need for the codec.

this worked nicely man. I had to extract to my H drive.

every student gets a home drive (h:\) with 200MB of space.

xtknight, student accounts can't extract files or copy fills onto the c drive, except for My documents, which is actually stored on our h:\ anyway.

thanks though.
