Yes, this involves the haunted PC. (i7-4790K, RX 480, one SSD and HD).
Lately, occasionally - up to once a day, or once in a few days - the system just powers down.
It totally shuts down - then the fan restarts a second later and keeps running, but no video signal.
I have to power cycle, which works. (Though an occasional oddity doing that is when the keyboard isn't recognized - which is fixed by another power cycle).
It doesn't seem related to the activity on the PC - it just happened while I was reading a web page without much else running, and it's happened while running a game.
It reminds me of when there's overheating, but that's not it - CPU temps are reported from 30 to 44 centigrade (edit - after running several more minutes the range is 29 to 51).
So, I'm wondering how to isolate the cause. It could be environmental (a short circuit? dust?) or a bad part, though I'm not about to just start replacing parts.
The power supply I guess would have to be a main suspect - a Seasonic M12II 620W - but I don't know if it's worth jumping to that theory, buying a new PS, and having the system rebuilt with it to test it.
Any other ideas how to identify a cause?
