how would world of warcraft play on a mac, specifically a mac mini with 1.42 ghz and half a gig of ram? it JUST meets the minimum requirements so i know the game would look like crap, but do you think it would be playable? playable at like 8x6, med-low quality...? you see my father sucks at the internet and he loads this PC full of spyware on a daily basis (yes we have firefox but he only likes to use IE, go figure), PLUS this computer is extremly old (P3 celeron 800mhz, 11MB graphics card, 128 megs of ram). i figure i could kill two birds with one stone and get him a cheap and more up to date computer that is also free of spyware and all that other nasty crap. but before i recommend the mac mini to him i want to be sure that WoW would be the least bit playable on it.

thanks

PS. if you know a forum where i could get better answers please point me to one, thanks.

The limiting factor would likely be the 32mb Radeon 9200 that the Mac Mini comes with. And I don't think the 9200 supports DirectX 9.0, which you would need if you want the game to at least look decent.

And WoW probably requires at least a 64mb video card.

If you don't want your dad using IE on the mac, go into /Applications and drag Internet Explorer to the trash, then empty it :p

its pretty much up to the graphics card. as games today are heavily graphics card dependant.
