How would World in Conflict play on my system?

I just got rainbow six vegas and am terribly disappointed at the performance on my system.

I also bought World in Conflict but I may return the game if the performance is not as great in my system.

I game at 1680 x 1050. What kind of settings can I expect for 40+ fps?

At 1680 it should run pretty well, but you'll probably have to turn off AA and may have to turn down a few settings. Shaders by default will be lower than if you had DX10 so that will help performance, then maybe turn down some lighting/shadows or texture detail.

WiC is one of the most demanding games used in current benchmarks and typically the fastest cards only average 30-40FPS @1920. But its an RTS so its perfectly playable in that range and looks great.

My 8800gts 320mb can get pretty crippled in that game during the benchmark, but during most 'normal' gameplay it runs pretty smooth. You do have even less vram then I do though, but you do have more CPU power. I think you'll be fine, and you will be able to play it with decent eyecandy settings.
