How would the most popular musicians from the past fare today?

I'm only 18 and have not been a big fan of music until recently so I'm fairly uneducated as to the lives and public opinion of past musicians/groups such as Elvis or The Beatles etc. How would they fare in todays society, as far as public scrutiny or press goes? It's sort of like the old question, how would Babe Ruth fare today? Would he be able to handle the media, questions about his weight, any sort of womanizing or having every aspect of his life written about. I know how popular the Beatles and Elvis were and they probably dealt with incredible media coverage, but I think we're at a whole different level today.

Yeah, music artists are manufactured today, not discovered. It's sick, really, but such is the world....

i am a big Frank Sinatra fan, and i think he would do just fine nowadays. everyone adapts or else they say fly me to the moon.

style changes, fads come about. stupid kids now don't value singing ability, they value teh bling-bling.

Media today is a lot different from the media back then. More people following you around watching your every move and passing judgement on what they think you should be doing.. I think they would do just as good now as they did then. I am sure there are many people that still listen to it as much as they would lead thier friends to believe they don't.
