If there was ever a day in the future where marijuana was made legal - how would the government handle legalization?

I'd guess HEAVY taxation, much worse than cigarettes. What else? Age limits?

How would they handle it?

They wouldn't, as I doubt it will ever even come close to happening.

In other news, I had the weirdest dream last night involving me finding a gigantic bag of that stuff, and pulling out a chunk the size of my fist for myself...and it smelled like yellow cake batter...

I assume along the same lines as cigarettes, locked up behind the counter, necessitating a picture ID in order to purchase.

Very similar to Alcohol is my guess, with plenty of taxes.

Large tax, over 18/21 to purchase. Being caught under the influence if you're underage or driving should have similar penalties to underage drinking or driving under the influence of alcohol.

I think we have all been over this. ONe reason they wont legalize it cause there is infact no quick way to tell if someone is driving under the infleunce of the mary jane...

If they do make it legal..I would suspect the same laws as cigs and alchohol. Along with not being able to smoke in public, and only in designated areas like a bar...but for pot.

They can indeed tell if someone is under the influence. They simply don't want to.

Yes how?

A cop saying "your eyes are bloodshot, your being retarted and you smell funny..alright son..your high" doesnt work..

Taking blood samples on scene would not seem possible

Sure it does, it works for a roadside test for alcohol. You don't do breathalyzer or a blood test by the side of the road either.
Smell, behavior and /or onset of mystagmia for the "under the influence" arrest, urine or blood for THC level in blood after you're at the Cop Office for the DA's charges.

Critical thinking takes it on the chin again.:disgust:

THC in the urine does not prove you were driving while under the influence...
