How would selling a website work?

I have a website I am toying with the idea of selling as I am in dire need of quick extra cash to pay off home renovations.
The site is http://www.anythingforums.com and is just a forum site. I think the main selling point is mostly the domain name and the fact that it's a semi established site (low traffic, and BADLY needs new template/updates). I would basically sell it as is and transfer all the data to the owner.

1: How much do you think, roughly, such site could sell for?

2: How would I make sure the transaction goes smooth, that I actually get my money and not get screwed over with someone that now has my data?

The only thing of value on that site is the domain name. The forum is incredibly inactive, so you're not selling traffic. Setting up a forum with a One-Click Panel is so simple these days that you're not really selling expertise, and you're definitely not selling design work.

Auction the domain through one of the various well-established domain-auction services (for example, the one run by GoDaddy).

Hmm never thought of the auction services. Can I set a minimum bid? I want to make sure that if I'm selling it, I at least get what I think it's worth, which will most likely be higher then what others may think, but I figure it's worth a try. If someone has a great idea and more time then me they could make a very good site with that domain.
