I have a bunch of crap that I wanna transfer to my computer. It's all on my Time Warner digital cable DVR box.

I have a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb with TV-out, I do not have VIVO.

Help.

you can't, AFAIK the time warner DVR hasn't been hacked to extract the videos digitally, and with no video input on your PC, you won't be able to cap them in that manner.

Thanks....

Would this be possible: I buy a set top DVD recorder and record the shows onto DVDs?

***I'm not gonna go out and buy a DVD recorder just to do this, I'm just asking if this is possible***

I would assume so, the DVD recorder will only need to have a video input. It'd be just like recording anything else onto DVD.

Basically the moral of the story is, you're not going to get anything off of the hard drive directly. You'll just have to capture the stuff using the video out of the DVR, just like you would any other source.
