How would i "optimise" a Heatpipe? Zalman.

Hi.
First;
I recently brought a Zalman ZM80C-HP for my 9700pro. But i occasionally have problems with screen corruption. After alot of ideas why being thrown around, a guy on Rage3D suggested that i should have my fan blow down one side of the Zalmans HS`s instead of both. At first i thought that`d be daft, but after thinking for a bit, i thought it could be quite logical.
If i understand the usage of a HP in the case of the Zalman, it transfers heat to and from each HS on the card. In the process, "evening" then amount of heat on both HS`s so that they`re both the same temp. or round about.
So if they were both being cooled at the same time, then the HS infront of the core would get slightly cooled, with little to none of the heat transfered to the rear HS. Correct?
This also makes a little more sence when you seen that the optional fan for the ZM80C can only blow air down on side and not both.
So which side, would you lot reccommend that i place the 92mm fan blowing down? For optimal temps?

And any corrections to my HP theory were appropriate. Thanks.

Thanks in advance guy/gals.

Buy the OP1 fan... I bet no one knows how to cool the ZM80C Better than Zalman.

They were sold out of the OP1s when i brought the ZM80C-HP.
So i got the FB123 bracket which comes with a 92mm fan intead.

From the link that you gave me, i get the impression that concentrating the fan on the rear HS is best. Correct?
I`d test out both ways, but i dont have a temp probe.

Heat always travels from a warmer to a cooler place, (that is the very principle that the HP uses) so if you cool down the backside of the cooler, the front side (GPU side) will also get cooler. Another thing that will help is to make sure there isn't dead air around the top (GPU side) HS. A case fan blowing air in the area should be enough, just make sure there is some airflow.
