I ordered an Epox 8K7A and now I need to know which DDR 256 memory stick to go for.

First, check look at this link to see what I mean:

It's PC2100 that I want, but there's a few at different prices.

One says:

DDR PC2100 ? CL=2.5 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 64 for $59.39

Another says:

DDR PC2100 ? CL=2.5 ? Unbuffered ? ECC ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 72 for $63.89

What's the difference between these two 256meg dimms? Which one is better?

thanx.

The ECC memory is just error checking and is a little better, and is required in the dual athlon system. Check to make sure that your motherboard supports ECC and if it does then it can't hurt to get it. I believe that either will work.

ECC will slow you down a bit though, and is only required in high end server/workstation boards.

Just the normal DDR mem, it's called "Unbuffered ? Non-parity" in this case.
