If you don't mind me asking is there something specific you need ME for? Personally that OS was like the plague, multiple restarts daily while I had it running.

+3 why?

but you would install ME first, then XP, keeping both OS's on the same hard drive.

now if ME crashes and you have to reload ME you will loose the ability to boot into XP and will have to repair xp's boot files.

Install WinXP, then install VirtualBox, install WinME in the VM.

BEST solution possible.

Am a bit puzzled. What runs in ME that won't run as well or better in XP? I had ME briefly, but replaced it with XP Pro at the first opportunity. I still have the ME CDs - now part of shelfware. :)

I know Virtualbox does... and Virtual PC should as well.

I don't know of a film scanner that will run in ME and not XP. There is a legacy run option in XP for that sort of thing.
