How would I do this?

I'm pretty set on getting the TSC ASW-8 subwoofer, but I have a problem. My receiver is a pretty basic Insignia model (don't laugh...I got it for $60 new, it does full 6.1 and actually sounds just fine). It only has one input each for the speakers (6 surround speakers) and has no separate speaker outputs for the subwoofer.

Currently I have a "subwoofer" that has inputs for the sub and then outputs to go to my speakers. Apparently the TSC ASW-8 doesn't have that. So, how would I be able to hook both up at the same time?

I do have one output on my receiver labeled as "Sub", but it looks to be a single RCA output port (black colored), and I know the sub has RCA line in...

What should I do? I haven't ordered it yet.

I think you pretty much told yourself what you do. Connect the sub to the sub output of the receiver and set your other speakers to "small" or enable the built in crossover in the receiver.

Sub output on receiver = 1 output port that looks like a black RCA port
Sub input on sub itself = L/R inputs (Stereo wire) or L/R RCA line in

I don't see how that's telling me what to do. Am I missing some sort of specific cable I could use?

Edit: After a bit of researching, it seems like I only need one cable (found the type on monoprice) that runs from the receiver to the left input of the sub...? No y-splitter needed?

One side of the L/R Rca inputs on your sub is the "LFE" input. And that is all you need to hook up

if I remember correctly, most of the time the LFE is the left speaker input.

Try them both, one will work, one won't :)
