How will Vista run?

im getting a new laptop, just for general purposes, no gaming or anything fancy, but i have heard that Vista is pretty demanding on system hardware...

how will i be able to run Windows Vista Home Premium if these are the specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500 (1.66GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 667MHz FSB)
1024MB PC2-5300 DDR2 667MHz SDRAM
nVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 with 128MB dedicated graphics memory

my main concern is the amount of ram, and the vid card bec. i figure the CPU is plenty enough

thanks for the help

I'm running the Aero interface with zero performance issues with Intel Integrated 945GM graphics... so the 7300 will be more than adequate. I'd recommend getting 2 GB of RAM, though. There's quite a noticeable difference between 1 and 2.

I don't know about "quite a noticeable difference" I had a stick of ram go bad last night, so I'm running on 1gb now. Everything still feels pretty smooth. Not quite as nice as 2gb, but if ram prices weren't so low now, and if I wasn't getting the ram RMAd I wouldn't worry about replacing it.

Every try having Outlook 2007, Word 2007, Access 2007, Trillian, Visual Studio 2005, a couple Windows Explorer windows, and 5 or 6 sidebar gagets running? 🙂 Noticeable difference.

Even under a light load, the difference is noticeable in SuperFetch.
