In a previous thread in OT (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=38&threadid=1106476&FTVAR_MSGDBTABLE=) I told my story about how I was going to be getting a no-charge upgrade to a P4 3.2ghz, 800FSB, 5900 fx ULTRA, etc.
HP called and told me this is the best they can do:
Pavilion a250y... 3.0ghz on a 865 chipset, 800 FSB, 1gig of PC3200, 7200rpm 250GB harddrive, Radeon 9800 non-pro, Audigy, 4x DVD+RW, Klipsch 5.1 speakers.
Now, I don't play any computer games really. I check e-mail/internet every once in a while and I like to keep my computer running as a webserver. From my research, the 9800 non-pro is pretty much identical to the 9700 pro, and isn't far behind a 9800 pro at all. Is this true? Will this computer be able to play future games decently?
Thanks guys.
