How will this computer run most games, etc.

Maxtor 30GB ATA133 HD
Samsung 256MB PC2700 DDR33 RAM
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro (128MB OCed)

That's the most important stuff. I'm just wondering because this is my first good computer and I'm wondering how it will run games like Unreal Tournament 2003 and Counter-Strike.

Thanks alot.

Counterstrike should run no problems on that rig setup, but if you can afford it, get yerself a Radeon 9500 Pro for Unrealtournament2K3.

By no problem you mean 80+ FPS always?

And I'm looking into getting either a 9500/9700 Pro in the new year.

Edit: Also, how can I find my drive 'Volume Label'?

Alex

In cs you should get 100fps all the time with that setup. I would get a 9500 pro instead of a 9700 vanilla though.

I'd lose the 9000 Pro and get a 9500 Pro, go down a few notches on the CPU speed if you have to. If you're building primarily a gaming machine, the video card will make a bigger difference in your FPS.

Yeah pretty much every vid card from the past few years will run CS at 100fps constantly... though UT might be a different story w/ that 9000...though I wouldn't worry. Still a 9500 could save you some cash down the road...and I would definitley drop the proc down to up the vid card... I have to get UT2k3 soon and see how it runs on my box...lol
