How will the new MB's fit in existing cases?

I was looking at some of the new motherboards (Asus PT533, Abit iT7, etc.) with USB 1.1, USB 2.0, Fireware, 6.1 Sound, etc. on them and questioned how is this going to fit in my existing SB1030b case? Will it come with ATX case plates to fit? Please help me understand.

New motherboards should come with I/O plates that will snap into your existing ATX case. Keyword is "should". It might be wise to research the specific board you are planning on buying to be sure.

An I/O plate is not necessary for the function of a computer... but if you want it for aesthetic uses, I'm sure manufacturers of new format mobos will include new I/O plates. I know my Tyan Thunder LE-T S2518UGN came with a nice, sturdier plate for my Lian Li PC70 🙂

antec has pretty good customer support. if you send them an email or give them a call, they'll send you a new i/o plate if they've manufactured them already.
