How Will Letterman, Leno, etc, be funny when they go back on the air?

Just a thought...someone mentioned that to me and I got to thinking. Those guys poke fun at the news...but there's only been one item of news for the past week, and you can't poke fun at it.

They will likely take a moment to be serious then find other little bits of news that occurred to poke fun at or just do some stand up. Of course, they will likely make fun of bin Laden for a bit too.

yea, i was thinkin about that too, it will be interesting to see, also wondering how snl will change...

another thought, whats with big brother 2? since it is all live, and the roomates are kept 100% away from news and the like, will the show go on? did cbs even record shows the past week?

somebody posted that monica had a relative that is missing in the bombing so they decided to tell the people in the house about it. the show will be airing again i believe in a few weeks

lol, How would you like to be "surviving" (lol) the outback when this happened, what if the station forgot about them, what if they actually DID have to survive, not just eat donuts after the show goes off the air

ill say one thing and thats it wouldnt surprise me if they did come back with very distastful jokes. they have never been tasteful. the only reson i ever have to watch is Monday headlines.

I bet that Letterman will handle it a lot better than Leno. It should be more difficult for him since he's right there in NYC, but I look for him to go more serious with his first show. I'd also expect some sort of salute to the rescuers etc.

Leno can be an insensitive jerk at times. I don't think he'll make that mistake with this, but I figure he'll do pretty much his usual show except that the jokes will be on very safe topics.

If I were producing the shows, I'd want to have at least one guest who could discuss the events of last week seriously and with some authority.

That's the only reason Leno is funny, Headlines

Letterman is much better and can be very serious if he wants to be.

BTW Leno will probably bring in Tom Brokaw ...

Rick Dees was really damn serious from last tuesday up to saturday but today he already acted normally with his stupid jokes... so it will be interesting to see what's gonna happen with Jay and David....

I wonder how The Daily Show (with Jon Stewart) is going to handle it since half the show is spent making fun of headlines.

I guess they'll be doing a bunch of best-of episodes or non-news-related specials (like the ones they've been showing for the past few days)...
