How will Doom3 run on my system?

I have an XP2600+ runnin at 2.2GHz with a slightly O/Ced ATI 9800 Pro. I also have 1GB of Mushkin Level II PC-3200.

Is there hope for me? Can I run it above 640x480

D3 will run just fine on that system. Depending on your tolerance for FPS speed, you might even be able to run it at 1024x768 on medium to high settings.

Two things, though:

(1) Be sure to use the Catalyst 4.9 Beta driver
(2) Be sure to download and use the Humas modified tweaks for a nice performance increase with ATI cards.

Although this topic has been beaten to death, it will probably run fine @ 1024x768 High Quality.

Should be able run 1024x768 or 1280x1024 on high quality, with a few tweaks you can maybe get away with ultimate quality but I'd rather have the higher screen res.

I have xp2400+, 1 gig pc 2100, 9800p, no oc of anything and I run 1024x768 high with no problems at all. No humus tweak but i did enable triple buffering and set v-sync to "yes" in advanced game system options. Also changed config file with these values:
seta image_useCache "1"
seta image_cacheMegs "256"
seta image_cacheMinK "3072"

You should be able to squeek through at 800x600 or 640x480.

Bad idea. Turn them both off.

I think you will be ok at 10x7 medium or even high settings but don't even consider AA.
Some guys even reached 50+fps at this resolution with a 9800pro heavily oc'ed.

Anyone notice any issues with O/Ced system or vid card? I know can't do much of an O/C with Far Cry, without it crashing after 10-15 min. of play.
