My case came with three probes for the front LCD display. They are a long black wire with a metal tip that measures temperature.

cpu
I'm using a thermaltake big typhoon and I have no idea where I could measure the temperature. Maybe like this (Clamp, Probe, Copper, Chip)?

hdd
This must be the easiest of the bunch... where exactly should I stick this on the HDD? Top, bottom side, anywhere?

sys
I'm assuming by sys they mean the chipset, but I have a dfi mobo with that big circular fan so I don't know where I would put this. I could use it to measure ambient case temps, then again I wouldn't know where to mount it.

mounting
The manual doesnt mention what I should use to mount these probes...

CPU: along side of die usually works well, don't get anything between the heatsink and the die.

HDD: top

Chipset: I usually set that one near the top inside of the case for case temps, I've seen some people attach it to their ram if they're overclocking like crazy. You can, of course, attach it to your chipset, next to/on the northbridge like the CPU.

It should have come with some sort of one-sided thermal tape, it's usually very thin, transparent and orange, and a pain to get off its backing. If not, you can use high temp electrical or thermal tape.
