How well will this thing cool my video card?

both will cool much better than stock, both are very quiet, both are fairly easy to install...the biggest difference bewteen the two is the price. one advantage that the NV5 has is that it will exhaust the heat out of the back of your case, although the Zalman may offer slightly better cooling performance.

i would go for the VF-900 over the ZALMAN FC - ZV9...much cheaper

I'd say there are pros and cons for each one. For example, you could probably use the Zalman on another video card should you decide to upgrade. The AC is more like "model-specific". On the other hand, the AC exhausts the hot air out of the case, while the Zalman doesn't. I guess it depends on your priorities.

BTW, I think you're getting overcharged for the Fatal1ty sticker. If you decide to go with Zalman, why not consider the VF900 for less?

Guess CKXP beat me to it!

I have a Vf-900 in one of my systems. Heat is not a problem, cpu idles at 27c and it is an opy 146. The reason i like the zlman one is because the red matches the ATI card. Unless i can buy a new fan from zalman.

Aside from the color of the heatsink & the LED this cooler is identical to the VF900cu... what video card are you going to use it with?

It will do a decent job on that card & will really help with a stable overclock.
