how is Vista currently? i recently upgraded to that intel retail edge package, and was wondering if its worth to try out Vista RC1 cd that came with it; or just wait until we get our CDs in Feb. for final release. any insight and feedback from users of vista would be appricated.

Read random threads about drivers & lincensing issues with 64, is that the same for 32?

I'm using RC2 and it works great on my machine but I doubt if I'll transistion from XP anytime soon.
Install it and try it out, can't hurt anything and can be removed. (If I were you I would download and install RC2 though, there were a lot of bug fixes and you can still find it online if you search for it). You can use the serial key you got with RC1 with RC2.

edited for spelling

If you like tinkering with a new OS then RC1 has been stable enough in my experience to work with it. I've been using Vista since the Beta verson and stability greatly improved in RC1. I still haven't re-enabled User Account Control because it didn't work well with installed programs.

I really like the Vista interface but I can't say that I would upgrade to the new OS when it came out unless it was free. If it was I'd probably move over. I really love the Explorer interface on it and some other features that make it more efficient.

I don't think I really need to make a new topic as my question is very similar to the OP's. I have a secondary PC that sits next to my gaming PC that I mainly surf the net on. It also runs my ventrilo server and ventrilo itself. I also use MSN on it.

Could I put Vista on it and not have it impact those specific functions?
Which version should I get?

My main PC is a dual core 64bit system that I use for massive gaming (WoW, Oblivion, etc) should I put Vista on it? Would the 64 bit version conflict with anything? When does the actual retail version of Vista come out anyway. I've been out of the loop for a loooong time.
