How well does W2k software raid work?

I'm going to setup an array to suppliment my U160 boot drive. I need more storage!

I'd get a controller but I already have a SCSI controller, and the Highpoint HPT366 onboard, and a bootable intel nic card. I dont' think i could stand any more bootable cards!

I have no performance comparison but I have a raid setup on my Win2K Adv Server using the the Windows software striping with some older 4 gig SCSI drives and am pleased with the results. This machine has a 166 overclocked to 200 and 114 megs of ram so it is not a real power system but it works great as my file server.

hey, i will be trying out the software raid on my system pretty soon(waiting for second 18gig scsi drive from the ups guy) is there anyplace to learn
a bit more on actual install or setup software raid process.

thx
