How well do those external enclosures for CD/DVD drives work?

I see one at newegg that I'm spying for car use, but would playing a dvd thru it play ok? Not choppy or anything? Its a USB 2.0 so it should have good bandwidth...

I have seen a friends external usb 2.0 enclosure with a samsung dvd/cdrw drive in it, and i distinctly asked him what cd burning and movie playback was like.

His reply was along the lines of "Ive had no problems at all".

Im not personally sure of external enclosures reliability, I would imagine it all depends on the type of drive / brand of drive & enclosure etc that all count towards the performance.

 
Can anyone recommend a good fairly cheap external drive bay enclosure for a CD-RW? I reallly want to get one for burning CD's on a laptop....Thanks
