how well do DynDns-type services work?

I've had a static-ip dsl connection for a few years, but I'm considering switching to yahoo SBC dsl soon, which will be PPPoE dynamic.
I still need to have a low-traffic web server available on the web, just for remote access of a few of my files and stuff. how well do those services that change your DNS automatically to reflect your changing ip work?

DynDNS + DirectUpdate = no problems whatsoever.

I agree. I just put my username and pw directly into my router and my router will automatically send an updated IP if necessary.

I had problems with my router's built in DynDNS client, but DirectUpdate on my server works great!
