How well do DrMartens industrial boots hold up to water?

Similar ones to these.

I'd like to get a pair of work/outside/snow shoveling boots. Always been a DrMarten fan, my pair of low-cut leather shoes have lasted me for years. Never really got them wet or anything though.

Any of you guys have any input on this? Or another similar boot you could recommend? Not gonna be going hiking in them, just general work-type stuff, but they will be used outdoors in snow and stuff. Probably also be worn casually, which is why Doc martens were my first choice.

Go with a redwings gortex lined boot. Mine are 7 years old and still holding together.

I coated mine with a double shot of silicone water repellant spray and they're holding up great. I've just got a pair of their regular shoes, not the industrial ones.

As someone who works outdoors I would go with goretex lined if you want water proofness. Water resistant means that you can get some splashes of water and be ok, but walk in the snow for an hour and you are going to be wishing for a dry pair of shoes.

Cabellas makes some good goretex shoes as does LLBean.
