How well can an All-In-One printer copy a photograph?

I got married a few months ago, and we are picking out wedding pictures to give to people, and also people are choosing which pictures they want. We got a single set of 4x6's from the photographer to show people, so they can decide which ones they want. Some people said they would like a 4x6, exactly like the picture in the book. If I get a 4x6 through the photographer, it's going to cost about $5 bucks a single picture. I was thinking it might be cheaper to in the long run to buy an All-In-One printer if they can replicate the pictures well enough. We had 400 people or so at the wedding, so that is why I think it might be cheaper to spend $150 on an All-In-One instead of paying $5 per pictures. Also, we are also supposed to get our negatives in 10 years, so I can't print them myself from the negatives.

C/N: Can an all-in-one printer copy a photograph near-perfectly?

It can (my HP 2410 makes near perfect photo copies), but if you want super high quality, you're going to fork out about $1/sheet for glossy photo stock, figure about $.35-$.50/ photo for ink, plus your time and effort.

HP photsmart all-in-ones will do a nice job, but to my knowledge they don't host a 4x6 slot to load paper.
The ink alone will kill you unless you're refilling.
Taking the pics to Wally may be the cheapest option.

Wal-mart can copy pictures for you?

Yeah, I've known a lot of people to swear by the HP all-in-ones, but if you want perfect picture quality, you're going to have to fork out to the photographer. Keep in mind, in addition to the cost of the printer, you'll need lots of photo printer paper and ink, neither of which is cheap.

Ask around, maybe people would be okay with (or even prefer) getting the pictures emailed to them? That could save you a bundle.

If you give out photos to all 400 people in the long run you're going to still be paying a lot of money. Even if it's not as much as the photographer is charging, it'd still be pretty high up there.

They have an adjustable paper feed that takes nearly any size of paper.
