So, as posted in this thread, we took our daughter to Chuck-E-Cheese for the first time today. A kid from preschool we go to was having his birthday there. It was our first time there, too.
She seemed to have a blast in germ-infested tubes
And we let her eat a slice of their horrible pizza and a piece of birthday cake. Not much harm can come from that, right?
Well, we come home, she goes in for her midday nap, and we plan a dining out when she wakes up. She wakes up in grouchy mood, which is unusual. We attribute it to her day schedule thrown off.
Arrive to a restaurant. Wait about 20 mins, because they are running behind schedule with reservations (crazy day and all). We wait, and my daughter seems to be unusually quiet - wants to just sit on mom's lap and do nothing. No temperature, so we don't suspect it's an onset of a flu or smth. Maybe just extra tired from the craziness earlier in the day.
We get seated. Order food. Soup arrives. My daughter goes pale, makes some uneasy moves... and throws up on the seat. Oh, F. Good thing, the couple across was already leaving, so we didn't ruing their evening.
Not a lot of vomit came out, but now we realize she has food poisoning. Quickly mop up with napkins, and take her to a restroom. Wash face with cold water, etc - she seems better now. We decide to take the food to go and head home, but the food arrives as soon as we come back from the restroom.
Food arrives. As soon as the aroma reaches my kid, she starts nervously stepping off the seat. I immediately realize what's going to happen, grab her, and we make a run for the restroom.
I'm sorry to all of you romantic couple in that restaurant who were seated on the way to the restroom. We didn't make about 40 feet to the doors, when... she really vomited this time. I was amazed, at how much was there. As I was beating world 100m records running for the sink, the stuff just kept on spilling, marking our trail with all sorts of semi-digested food.
Everything, from cake and pizza to even breakfast stuff came out. When we reached the sink, she was done. Very shaken and upset (she couldn't understand what was going on). We cleaned up, and went back for the belongings.
Props to the crew - they were already finishing up with mopping when we stepped out of the restroom. I did not look at patrons' faces.
The food was already packed to go for us.
I left a huge tip, apologized many times, and we went home.
So much for the Valentine's day
Kid puked a couple more times at home, mostly just on gag reflexes, and then went to bed very tired. Poor thing.
I say, Chuck-E-Cheese must be destroyed! With vengeance!!!
Cliffs:
- Kid goes to Chuck-E-Cheese in the morning
- we go out dining in the evening
- kid gets food poisoning
- pukes all over.
- We go home
Yay.
