Yet master and commander and mystic river were? Master and commander was ssssooo boring and Mystic River was flat out horrible and depressing...

It wasn't a very good movie. Actually, it was an annoyingly typical Tom Cruise movie. Nothing exceptional about it at all.

i agree 100%. i'm surprised that it wasn't nominated - in fact, it was the only movie last year that really moved me. all others were just entertaining, some moreso than others.

they already gave a nomination for best supporting actor to Ken Watanabe .. the oscar's don't want to let everything go crazy.

Because in the movie American = Bad guys.
Japanese = the good one

and Tom Cruise convert to Japanese

Master and Commander sucked. Boring and I hate how they made the boats do maneuvers that were impossible to do with the boats they were in.

EDIT: Ok, the movie didn't suck that bad, but for some reason I don't like Crowe. They still made teh boats do impossible things though.
