I think it's fine to watch someone play video games competitively. I don't think it's fine to watch Twitchtv videos for hours on end. I checked out a streamer who was playing Far Cry 4. He had 4 people watching his stream. He streams for over 45 hours a week. He doesn't work and expects to make a living from Twitchtv.

What about improving your life? It's the same with people who watch reality tv and even regular tv. Instead of actually living an exciting life, they are living thru television. Most people watch 40 plus hours of television a week. Why not better yourself? We can go online to learn anything now! Yet, people would rather waste the valuable free time they have on worthless sh*t. I'm no better... 🙁

I could get into watching some games on occasion, but my preferred style(arena combat), isn't particularly popular anymore. I don't really game anymore anyway, so maybe I wouldn't watch...

Yup. Just balls out, kill everything that moves gaming. I love UT2k4. I got out of it after UT3 was released. It just wasn't the same, and I occupied my time with GNU/Linux. I keep meaning to boot up my Vista install, and play some UT, but I just never get to it :^/

Loved UT, UT2K4 and even UT3. The difference was I played UT and UT2K4 online. With UT3 I played primarily offline. I also played a ton of UT mods, and my favorite was Tactical Ops. I always thought UT3 was a beautiful game.

I miss twitch gaming.

It was kind of undeserved. It was a clan challenge, and one of the opposing guys didn't participate. He was phenomenally good, and there's no way in hell I could have beat him. I'll take what I can get though. There's little in life I've excelled at, so you gotta cherish the small victories :^)

Also, do these people really like to play video games, or are the doing it for the attention? My guess is attention. If Twitchtv didn't exist would they play video games? I doubt it.
